During an expedition (1917-1920) on the Venezuelan-Colombian border in South America, a Swiss geologist named Dr. Francois de Loys and his team encountered and killed this creature. Obviously a large primate (4 feet 5 inches), many wondered if this could be a living "missing link." Skeptics say it is just a spider monkey.
